Main Street, in both the West End and City Center districts, is incredibly vibrant and exciting. However, I think it often allows people to forget that there is more going on downtown. So, here's a place to discuss and share pictures. Here's a start of what I hope will be a growing collection of pictures. Please share!

Hey, thanks for this! I don't ever want to forget one of my reasons to move here, but sometimes absorbed in my own problems I tend to forget how truly blessed I am to be living here!

Nice trip down memory lane. One of the things that hasn't changed at all is the old Bellsouth building. I remember my sister working there as a telephone operator.

Someone should also post pictures of the Hughes Main Library, Greenville Little Theatre, and the Upcountry History Museum to complete Heritage Green. McBee Station, the Kroc Center, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, Poinsett Club, Greenville Zoo, and Cleveland Park also fit into this category. Augusta Street is loaded with interesting shops and a few nice restaurants south of Church Street as well.

For sure! I'd like to further document the Pendleton Street Arts District. There's lots of things going on over there right now. Pendleton, Lois, and Perry Ave are all seeing lots of action.

I took a detour Sunday morning to visit the Pendleton Street Arts District. Here's a few images I stapped along Pendleton Street, Lois, and Perry Avenues:

Pendleton Street:

A few studio storefronts:

Perry Avenue... renovated storefront and an old restaurant space awaiting re-use:

A new place being renovated on Pendleton Street called the "Lashbar Downtown". Maybe a restaurant/bar? There's cool painted musical instruments hung on the outside of the building.

More studios:

Lois Avenue storefronts:

This place REALLY comes alive during Open Studio events. I'll try to grab some pics next time I'm there for a gallery opening/open studios event.
