Other thread was closed so I decided to start a new one. Phase 3 of ONE coming this Summer:

Downtown set to get another major development

Developers and city officials say they hope to share news soon of a major new development at the corner of Washington and Richardson streets that would include a new city parking garage with shops, residences and offices along the sides and other unspecified development on top.

They talked in general terms to GreenvilleOnline.com about the proposed new development without disclosing all the details.

To me it looks like one of those things that on certain days, depending on the lighting from the sky, look as though the architect "got it," while on other days, depending on the same, I have to divert my eyes, especially after it becomes weathered. Great pics.

I suspect it will look just fine when the entire package comes together but the tiny windows on the one face put me in mind of a jail/prison building.

The elevator shaft ruins an otherwise OK development.

I go back and forth on this development. It is nice but the more I look at it, the more it reminds me of a suburban building like you see in the Ballantyne section of Charlotte.

The shaft is terrible and becomes a focal point, not a good thing. The variation of materials, textures and shapes reminds me of how folks pimp out an old Crown Vic. I think they missed an opportunity here.

The next phase may be better. Let's hope they get away from the high/low ceiling heights, there is not a need (unless it is an ops center or trading floor-not likely in Greenville) other than to get height.

I think if it were possible, the shaft should've been glass; that would've made things a bit more uniform.

I think they could have just incorporated some spandrel glass. As a whole the buildings look good to me though.
