I've lived in 3 of the counties listed. To be honest I was pretty surprised that Monroe County NY is on that list- Upstate NY/Rochester area. And, I often wonder of the accuracy of a lot of what Business Insider says- they tend to be sensationalist in their headline grabbing, mostly in their Facebook feed, but...
I wonder why Greenville is on the list? I would of assumed that Columbia and the Charleston areas closer to the coast would of made it before Greenville.

According to Wikipedia, Greenville county has 467,605 residents, while Richland has 389,116 and Charleston has 350,289. So Greenville is the largest in the sate and receives this honor. Greenville City is rather small in size which makes the city population only 60,379 this would be around the 6th largest city in the state, getting beaten out by both Charleston and Columbia, along with a few others.

Lived in only one other county other than Greenville, which is on the list.
Was surprised to see you mention Monroe County on there...I can understand Miami-Dade, and others, but the Rochester area? I'm sure there's others people will tend to wonder about, but noticed Rochester mentioned...families from there.

I never thought of Rochester/Monroe county as being that populated. I lived there for 14+ years for both college and the worked there afterward. Rochester city proper is similar to Greenville in that it is a small downtown area, although Rochester is bigger than Greenville and has taller buildings. But once you get out of the surrounding areas of neighborhoods and small towns of the central area, it's like Greenville county in that respect- pretty rural! I always thought that the Buffalo area seemed a lot more populated than Rochester.
