South's beloved Americana-party band kicks away winter blues
There’s absolutely no better to chase away the blues than to have a big ol’ barbecue with friends. And the Blue Dogs have more friends around than there are opinions on the best BBQ around – so we're bringing them together … Dogs ‘n’ ‘cue, to benefit Compass of Carolina. Now in its 17th year, Chase Away the Blues has raised more money at the HB than any charity. "Chase" events have included Will Hoge, ZOSO, Loretta Holloway, Saffire: The Uppity Blues Women, Tinsley Ellis, Chris Duarte, Mac Arnold and more. Now the South’s most popular, most enduring Americana-party band brings their following (fans who include Hootie and Collective Soul). Opening the night is the incredible Wanda Johnson, who has performed at every Chase Away the Blues -- the deluxe blues/soul songstress -- to get the crowd overheated. Barbecue’s included with the price of the ticket, so come early for a lip-smackin’, charity-helpin’, song-singin’ good time.
