I noticed the start of the demo over the weekend. Any ideas what is planned for the site?

I worked at the Eckerd store in that plaza for several years while in college. Hopefully the demolition means something is going into the space instead of the ugly decaying eyesore it had become.

I think the old Ingle's Markets #69 is meeting the same fate of the old Ingle's Markets #41 on West Georgia Road in Simpsonville. Both stores relocated to replacement stores, and their vacated spaces were never filled. The buildings fell into disrepair, and would not make sense to invest into rehabilitation.

Ingle's Markets #40, 6505 State Park Road, Travelers Rest, South Carolina 29690-1696, appears to be kept up very well after its closure in 2002.
