Vol
153 is scheduled to be extended. I'm calling it the first link in a future bypass loop, that will bring the northern areas into play, at some unknown future date. I could be wrong about the prediction, but I doubt I'll still be here to hear anyone say "told ya so"...LOL

The problem there is 153 is itself becoming quite congested. If they don't do some planning now, it will be so clogged with red lights that it won't be much of an improvement over Whitehorse Rd.

153 does have some parts with existing frontage roads. These should be extended and most of the curb cuts eliminated. You would then access the frontage roads from existing red lights. Saw a lot of similar roads in Texas that were able to handle a lot of traffic without being bogged down with people turning in and out. In Texas they sometimes later upgrade these roads by replacing red lights with interchanges.

It's hard to imagine now but the growth in Easley and Powdersville will turn 153 into another Clemson Blvd (Anderson), 123 (Easley), or even Woodruff Road nightmare of red lights and traffic if no one plans for the growth.

I can just vaguely remember Woodruff Road before 385 was extended. Once you got past Greenville Mall and I-85, it was two lanes and farms. There was a hardware / farm supply store and that was it.

This is great news when fueling up in Anderson.

In regards to store 240, 2404 North Highway 81, the store is getting a pharmacy. They do not know when it will open. The video department is or should have been closing recently. No pharmacy permit has been issued yet as it remains in procession.

"With the expansion in the three Anderson stores, the only stores in the chain without fuel outlets are those in Belton, Piedmont, Powdersville, Pickens, West Union and Toccoa."

Unless they have built a LOT of gas stations in a short time, that part of the article seems incorrect.

Those are stores in the immediate area surrounding Anderson that will not have them yet.

I know three stores (16-Belton, 29-Piedmont/Moonville, 73-Piedmont/Powdersville) are due for remodeling and replacements. Although I do not know the plans for store 29, stores 16 and 73 will have pharmacies in existing and new stores. Store 29 needs to be replaced first.
