Greenville IMO is very easy to meet people in especially as a young prof. or 20-something, BUT you just have to get out and go to stuff.

When I first moved here in April, I didn't do anything, go to events, etc. and started to think I may have made a mistake by moving here, but I found that after that first event, meeting familiar faces, those folks became friends who I see on a regular basis.

Greenville at first may come across as somewhat cliquish, dont let that scare you because it is most certainly not and in fact, one of the more inclusive places I have ever lived. It is not a big city, and that is a good thing because it gives you a better chance to run into people, see the same people, over an over again, thus getting to know them and forming good friendships. For most of the groups of people you see out and about in downtown, you may think, "wow I wish I had a bunch of my good friends that lived here like that" but from what I have found, those aren't old college buddies, old hs friends for the most part, those are mostly folks who all met when they moved here.

Bottom line, get out there, join a meet up or do volunteer work, go to yp events, and you will find a good group of people here in Greenville and love it.

Hope it works out for you!
