I found a nice house online, but I know nothing about Seneca. We are a couple in our mid thirties with 2 small children. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hmm...my step-grandmother lives there, along with my step uncle and aunt haha. I really don't know much about it though. It's a pretty small town and it's close to Clemson...others will chime in sometime!

Dear MikeP,
I lived in Seneca for several years. I moved to Chattanooga over a year ago but will be moving back to the Greenville area in January.
I greatly miss the Seneca/Oconee county area. Its beauty is unmatched in the Southeast. Lake Keowee and Jocasee are gorgeous. Additionally, there are the SC/NC mountains as a backdrop. Outdoor activities are abundant and shopping is surprisingly good for the area. I do hear that Clemson (short drive from Seneca) will be getting a major shopping development (possibly with a PUBLIX!). I'm not sure of the housing market (in Seneca) now - others might know.
Please refer to my old post concerning the Seneca area: //www.city-data.com/forum/south...ing-areas.html
If you need any further info, please post or PM.
Take care

Seneca, Sc Area
MIKEP, i currently live in seneca. i love it...surrounded by 3 lakes, 20 minutes from the mountains, beautiful area....plenty to do and only 45 minutes from greenville, sc and a little over an hour from atlanta. the only negative thing i can say about the area is the schools are horrible....lowest s.a.t scores in the country which translates into substandard teachers and teacher wages.

Ready, Willing & Able Buyer in Seneca, SC
Hi Everyone- need your info & expertise on an available house in Seneca, SC.
I know a couple who are ready to purchase( cash transaction) on a low 200,000 range house in Seneca, SC. First of all, let me say that I don't know if these expectations are unreal, but this is what they are hoping for.
3+ bedroom, 2+ bathroom, 2 car garage, 2,000+ sq.ft. Acreage is not important.A Very safe & nice neighborhood. House must be move in ready as their budget will not allow for fixer upper's.They are working with a buyers agent whom they like very much and the broker is working hard, but so far and I won't take the space here to write all the reasons , there just hasn't been the "right one" available.Home must be close in as no farther than 10-15 minutes(preferabley less) out of town. Yes, they have taken advantage of the MLS, but the right one is not showing up. They have not been looking long... so many seem like Tract homes or others outdated that would require much time & money.
Brokers feel free to chime in if you want, only from a Sellers agent as the couple are dedicated to the buyer's agent.
This question has been asked on here before and got no responses, but does anyone have any current info on CrossCreek Plantation subdivision in Seneca?
At one time, I think Money was an issue as far as maientenance because the amentities were suffering as far as upkeep.
I'm hoping that someone here may know of a home that will be going on the market soon and it will be the right one.
You may respond here or DM - I will keep all responses confidential.
Thanks for all your help!
