Ive been scoping out Groupon getaways, Hotwire, Expedia, etc with no exciting results...so if anybody knows of any little mom and pop places or any others that are great, please let me know. Hi,
We moved here from Orlando last Aug. Before we moved here, we stayed at LaQuinta and the Extended Stay off Woods Lake Rd. Both were located by Haywood Mall and is a safe area and convenient to downtown Greenville. The prices at LaQuinta have since gone up. We got a good deal on hotwire at the Extended Stay for $50/night. The rooms are very roomy and have a kitchen which we prefer when we're out of town, especially if you have young kids. Another option I know of for an extended stay is this site:

They offer weekly rates but you have to call the hotel. Now if cost is really an issue, you can stay at
Greenville North Short Term Accommodations | InTown Suites
It's $189/week. They have a kitchen and it's conveniently located off Wade Hampton by Taylors. I live over by there and it's safe. It's a short drive down Wade Hampton to downtown. I never stayed there but I drive by all the time. It's similar to Value Place. It's a no frills hotel.
There's also Value Place:

There rooms are about $200/week. They are running a special of $28/night as long as you stay a week. We often stay at Value Place when we go away. You can't beat the price. You get a kitchen as well. The only thing I suggest is bringing your own kitchenware or they charge $30/week to rent them. We usually bring utensils, plastic plates/bowls/cups and a pot and pan and then we're good

It's clean there and you need a key to enter the hotel. Tripadvisor rates them #3 out of 62 hotels in Greenville with excellent reviews.

Good luck and hope this helps!
