The plans for the Laurens Road corridor extension of the Swamp Rabbit Trail have been finalized:

Quote:
Route of the Green Line from Cleveland Park to CU-ICAR: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the amazing property owners who have given generously of their land. It sends an incredible message when 8 property owners donate over 1.3 miles of corridor so that the Green Line of the Swamp Rabbit Trail system can expand by 5.4 miles. You can view the planned route by going to the Greenville County GIS (click here) then clicking Maps – Layers – Map Layers – Places of Interest then scroll down to “Planned Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail Extension”

Wondering if there will be bridges over Haywood and Verdae? If not, good luck crossing those roads alive! Wonder also what they'll do with that wonky intersection near Runway Park.

Has anyone tried the new "Green Line" SRT extension? Officially it begins now at Verde Village to Cleveland Park. Google maps shows it starting at ICAR.

This map has not been updated yet.

I would like to try this part out...where is a good place to park your car?

The new section is a beautiful trail.

Verdae Village is a good parking place. There is a wide sidewalk all the way down to the start of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Legacy Park is also an option. It's further away and has limited parking but should be good walking / biking connection.

The "Greenville Open Map" link above only shows the completed trail section. There is a future section going to ICAR but barriers block access and there is a bridge over Laurel Creek needed to complete the connection.

FYI - "Construction of the connection to Legacy Park is getting underway. For everyone's safety the Green Line between Woodruff Rd and Verdae Rd will be closed 6/28-6/30."
