I wonder if they will consider a Harris Teeter for Spartanburg as they prepare to re-enter the Upstate with 2 stores in Greenville? Looks like they would seek to infill the region. I know of one nice Publix in Spartanburg, and another in Duncan. So there may be room for another competitor in the upscale sector.

Publix should have more than two stores in Spartanburg County. I think a Publix store is planned at Northpointe Village in Boiling Springs.
I would imagine if Harris Teeter returns to Spartanburg it would be in the East Main/Converse/Hillcrest area. Is BI-LO still in that old store near Hillcrest?

The Dollar General on 14 across from Pelham Medical Center is in Spartanburg County. Would have been nice if it was a legitimate grocery or drugstore.
That's not a DG "Market" store on 14 is it? It's just a regular Dollar General. There are a ton of those ugly pre-fab looking buildings with trash usually all over the parking lots in Spartanburg county as well as Greenville.

Publix speculated for Boiling Springs, South Carolina
I have heard speculation supermarket Publix may have signed a lease for a store location in Boiling Springs. I do not know which location in Boiling Springs was specified. Possible locations I am aware of are the former BI-LO #5113, Cypress Shopping Center, 3720 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, South Carolina 29316-5716; The Commons at Turtle Creek at the southwest quadrant of Highway 9 and Clark Road; or the Spartanburg School District Two property at the southwest quadrant of Highway 9 and Old Furnace Road.
Neighborhood Market with just 1 store is not participating much either in Spartanburg. I wonder if NM is really making money for Walmart. I saw online where they are closing some of them quietly this year. One in Columbia is closing. Walmart seems to do the Supercenter best IMO and I would think with more categories/departments they get more sales there for the overhead.
