Are there any areas of the northern Greenville area, maybe around Furman or south of TR that has nice subdivisions where you can buy a lot and build your own house (not use their builder) in a nice subdivision? Also, in this area, is there a time limit as to when you can build the home?
If you mean 'build your own house' literally, I don't think many conventional subdivisions would let you do that. If you just want to use a different builder, that should be easy to find. As for time frame, the county rules don't set a limit, as long as you show some progress, and have an inspection no more than 180 days apart. I'm building my own house in northern Greenville County, and I've been at it for over 2 years so far. As for individual subdivision rules, only the developer or HOA can tell you those for sure. Get it in writing before you commit to buying a lot. If you're within city limits, the town itself might have different rules as well.

Thanks in advance.
I have a lot for sale on the East side of Greenville that is in a nice neighborhood that you could build your own house on. I'm not sure how big a lot you're looking for but mine is .6 acres.
Yes, build it as in me building it as the owner/builder. It'd be down the road- I'm hoping to transfer with my employer, but thought maybe i could pick up a lot now while prices arent too high yet.
Its in the Quail Ridge subdivision. There is no HOA and no architectural review committee to get permission from before building. Its zoned for residential, so the only requirement is that you get a building permit and build a house.
