I have three doorways in my house that have cracks in the drywall going up at roughly a 45 degree angle. I've read this may be a problem due to the house settling and may even be a foundation issue.

Does anyone have any recommendations about a trustworthy company to use for this?

I've heard someone used Ramjack but wanted to get some more opinions.

Are you within a builder's warranty? I would first go through them if so. Otherwise, I would have a structural engineer take a look. It can be normal settling and not necessarily anything to spend thousands of dollars on. I certainly would have an impartial party look at it first.

The house is 25 years old, so I'm pretty sure there's no warranty.

Does anyone know of such a structural engineer in the area? (I can send pictures of the door cracks via email.)

I know the owner of this company well. He is honest, and does great work. He also builds a quality home.

I dont know of anybody who could look at it, but I do know my mother in law had Ramjack come out and look at some of her problems. One corner of her was settling more than the rest of the house. Her problem ended up being drainage, but they did put those jacks on that corner to raise up the house. It had dropped a good bit. I had a crack on one of my inside walls, had a buddy in the business look at it, he said as long as it wasnt on an outside wall, not to worry about it too much, but I did, and had him jack up the floor there just to be safe.

A reputable home inspector or home improvement contractor will help you diagnose what's going on.
Recommend my neighbor: Mark Pust, Ransom Contracting Co., 864-640-1726 (m), if you choose contractor route.
He's provided high-integrity work for me, my business and social friends.

When was settlement first noted?

Home inspectors always recommend a structural engineer in these cases.
