Young professional looking for nice apartment ($1000) budget in Greenville area. Want the best commute to Anderson but able to go into Greenville for social life and get a reasonable cab fare home. Need to be in Anderson at 7.30 am. Thanks for info
That apartment is going to be 35-40 minutes to Anderson.
In that situation, you'd probably be better off finding an apartment on the North East side of Anderson, which would be very convenient for the daily work commute and still very reasonable for driving into Greenville on the weekends.

OP wants reasonable cab ride home from downtown. Didn't mention a max commute time.

Want to stay around 35 mins if possible, most apartments I research look to be east of Greenville which looks to be pushing a longer commute I am not familiar enough with the exits or traffic to 85 to know which exits would be an easier commute, which makes it harder. Just looking to see if anyone else does that commute or similar commute in that direct from Greenville to advise. Thanks again for help.
I lived in the Haywood Mall area back in the early 2000's, and regularly made the drive to Anderson via Exit 48 (Mauldin Road). Normally took me right at 30 minutes, and of course I avoided the 85/385 interchange.
I'd advise living in that area or close to Downtown Greenville, if your budget allows it. That would make for a roughly 30 minute commute one-way on an average day, which isn't bad at all (compared to large cities like Atlanta, for instance). Hate to say it, but if you're looking for a happening social/bar/restaurant scene, you likely won't find it in Anderson. It's a nice place for a slower lifestyle and raising a family, but for a more active social setting, Greenville will be a better bet.
The Haywood Mall area into downtown Anderson is quite a bit more than 30 minutes.
I guess the OP didn't really mention where they are working on Anderson. The Northeast side of town (Bosh, Walgreens warehouse, etc.) would be a good bit closer than say downtown or the Southwest side of town (i.e. Michelin).
Lots of new complexes off that 48 (276) interchange. Vinings at Laurel Creek, Innovation Apts., Millennium Apts. on the Mauldin side and complexes like 660 Halton (former Halton Place)on the downtown/mall side of the interchange. I lived at the 660 Halton Apartments near Haywood and 276 around 2000 and its a pretty good location near the mall, 85 and not far from downtown. They have undergone renovations recently and my 1 bedroom was a good size.
IMO, the apartments in some of the newer complexes are so tiny with no storage areas (closets) hardly for what people are paying for them.
