Constituents in the City of Travelers Rest, South Carolina voted in favor of the sale of beer and wine in stores on Sundays.

All municipalities in Greenville County allow off premises sales of beer and wine on Sundays. Unincorporated areas of Greenville County do not.

Not to be funny but it's about time It really needs to be that way everywhere. Also, liquor stores should be able to stay open until 9 PM. I don't really drink and could probably care less but it's just the norm

A referendum for the sale of beer and wine consumed off premises on Sundays in Greenville County should be up for vote in 2016.

Is that just for Greenville or Greenville Co? Last year, if I remember correctly, they were going to allow bars/restaurants in Greenville Co to sell alcohol on Sundays with a special license. Am I correct? Honestly, they should just allow sales on Sundays without a license. I think they should do away with private clubs and bars as well. Too me, it just seems like a hassle, headaches and more money for owners. The main reason they are private is because they want to be able to be open past midnight on Saturday and be able to serve alcohol on Sundays. I think it's just about getting with the times.

Greenville County Council voted in April to place a referendum on the ballot for the sale of beer and wine on Sundays for consumption on and off premises in November 2016.

What would happen if the referendum is passed next year? Supermarkets and convenience stores in unincorporated areas could see business increase on Sundays.

Gone are the days when we used to have to drive to Hendersonville on Sunday if we wanted to drink a few beers.

Good news here in TR, and we welcome it for the convenience, as well as businesses will profit from it, especially craft beer and from wine sales.

I think the closest supermarket that sells beer and wine for off premises consumption on Sundays is Bi-Lo #5608, Foothills Plaza, 2111 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-3136. Ingle's Markets #69, Cherrydale Point, 1500 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-2929, is not in the City of Greenville.
