The latest census numbers show last year the population of South Carolina increased by 67,000 people. We were ninth in the nation in growth. 80% of the growth was from people moving here from out of state. The other 20% was from new births.
I think we can all agree on this! I talk to lots of people every week that are moving here from out of state. I bet we all know people that have moved here from other states recently?
South Carolina is about as well balanced a place as anyone could want. If I knew I had a way to build my music studio numbers up in a rapid manner as a stranger in Greenville, I'd move there much sooner than I will in reality. In my little dream world, I live in Greenville in an old farm house and run my music studio teaching students how to play piano, guitar and drums... I have a garden from which I grow food to use in my side business. cooking and selling various products for people under SC's version of the Cottage Law. Of course, in my dream world, I am a handsome 6'2", fly a plane regularly back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends, and am married to my junior high sweetheart. Oh well, one can dream.
Thanks for the positivity LakeHartwell. I certainly haven't given up, but at 43 I'm just wise enough to know the difference between a measured risk and a haphazard one. Being a member of this forum helps me tremendously in planning, making social networking connections, and just simply understanding some of the risks involved.
More people are relocating to South Carolina indeed. I would be curious to know where specifically in the state they are relocating to.
