From the Greenville News:

Greenville's Main Street celebrated

'Streets featured in the 2016 Main Streets Across America were selected based on attributes that reflect strong ‘main street’ value, said Mehran Assadi, CEO of National Life Group, a Fortune 1000 company that offers life insurance, annuity and investment products.

Those attributes are strong local business presence, community gathering spots and scenic vistas, celebrations of history and traditions and reflections of civic pride, and diverse social and cultural events and activities.
“Each one has a great story to tell based on its history, challenges, successes and outlook for the future," Assadi said'

There is no better Americana than Main Street!

Very happy to see Greenville up there with the best.

I'm glad to see Hendersonville on this list. It's amazing what they have done with their Main St.

For Georgia, Cedartown is surprising, it does not look like much is there. I would have selected either Rome or Milledgeville.

Their selection for Virginia (Leesburg) and Maryland (Frederick) are both very good. The main street in Alexandria would have been a good choice for Virginia as well. The most surprising to me was Topeka Kansas.

For Ohio, I may have nominated Athens rather than Oberlin.
