I was hoping some of you guys could help me find a great Church in the Anderson South Carolina area.
But not just any Church. There are some things that I would be looking for, as I am new to this area.

- 1st off- spirit filled, believing in the Holy Spirit. And teaching/preaching it.
- Next multi-cultural and different back grounds; Now, all Churches will tell you they welcome all races. But if it's not a high priority. You begin to wonder.
- BIG* but not too big. It does matter. Not trying to find one with 1000 on Sunday, but not 40 either. It helps to be self supporting, and things to offer kids and families as well as individuals. And yes, great KIDS programs too.
- Modern day worship!!! Like the old blue hyems. But much prefer the modern worship services and music.

To conclude, I have tried NEWSPRINGs/ Anderson- liked it, but feel we still need to look around. Thanks for any help and appreciate your replies. If you have suggestions, please send links to the Churches web sites too, if they have 1.

Take Care and God Bless!

Wonder about what? Wonder whether or not they're lying about welcoming all races..?

Not trying to be a jerk, but to be honest that's a very strange statement. I'm not religious, but I'm quite certain the area churches really do welcome anybody that would like to join them. No?

To conclude, saying they welcome everyone. And making it a priority is 2 different things. Which I thought I stated that.
Just saying, if there is 1 place we should ALL come together. It's Church, not sure why that was a strange statement. But anyways...

If they say "everyone is welcome" then its a fairly safe assumption that everyone is indeed welcome. The doors are either open to everyone, or they're not so how are they going to make it a priority? Honestly, what does that even mean? You can't force people to attend it.

Yeeks. For our first 6 months here, I looked for churches- our oldest son made a spoof that we should start a blog for what church newcomers "get" for being new: the "FREE Parking", the banana bread church, the Coffee Cup church, the Free Pen church, lol.

Good luck in your adventure. Try to understand if a non-denominational is truly, NON DENOMINATIONAL... for we were close to linking to a church, when we realized that they were (quietly) non-understanding of non-traditional marriages. We walked.

And? Good news! God is still in our lives.

The Anderson area is represented in the "South Carolina" forum. You may gain more responses there.

I first attended NewSpring Church when it was meeting at Anderson College, now Anderson University. I did not expect it to expand to 17 campuses statewide and counting. I have not found anything bad in regards to their preaching and worship.
