absolutely amazing - wow - temps dropped about 8-10 degrees - memorable events: rapidly darkening skies 2-3 min prior to totality, stunning "Diamond Ring" effect, and the coronal filaments (I need to start planning for 2078 LOL)
Meh.. There'll be one 2024 that goes northwest of us.. Looks like maybe Knoxville will be in the path (rough guess)
and then there's another in 2045 that is basically the exact same path as this one, but will track about 100 miles to the south.
So.. As far as opening your door and watching.. Yes, not another one for 70 years or so.. But 2 in the next 28 years that will be a fairly short distance away.

2024 is a lame annular eclipse. The moon will appear to be smaller than the sun and won't completely black it out like it did today. It'll just look like it did at 1 today. If you missed today's eclipse you just got hosed.
Pretty crushed. Clouds got in the way at the very last minute. Only saw about the final 5 seconds. I had been anticipating this more than anybody else. Biggest gut punch I've experienced, easily.
"Mostly sunny, mostly sunny!" No more weather reports.

Ugh...that's a bummer. Glad I went downtown. Nothing but sunny skies. Hardly any clouds.
That was amazing - I took it in at Lake Conestee Nature Park. I wouldn't have guessed what the whole experience would be like even from the gushing descriptions. I can imagine that people would have freaked out in the days before they could predict this.
I ran into a bit of non-interstate traffic on the way home, but no worse than rush hour at 5:00 or 6:00.
It's hard to predict the effect of Waze on this type of event. Also the effect of heavy traffic warning: some probably didn't bother traveling here because of that. And I had the flexibility of plenty of alternate activities this weekend to avoid traveling through a possibly crowded destination.
Totally amazing. My husband got a couple of good pictures that I'm waiting to get on my computer, but none of mine turned out decently, other than a few cool tree shadow pictures with the crescents. Weather was perfect here 2km from the direct middle path in Anderson County. We could see several cars stopped on 247 watching and one on our road as well.
The cicadas even came out in full force during the totality. It was just amazing.
Now if I win the lottery, we're heading to Argentina so I can rent a boat for the July 2, 2019 eclipse.

April 8, 2024 is a total, not annular. Next annular, IIRC, is 2048.

Looks more like Arkansas will be in the path and not Tennessee in 2024. Will run more North/South. Dallas-Hot Springs Ark.-Poplar Bluff MO-Bloomington Ind.-Cleveland to Buffalo NY.

No, it's not. It's a total eclipse, we're just not in the path here in SC.

Someone posted a map in the weather forum that is better than the one I was looking at on Wikipedia.
Wow. Where it crosses around Illinois they will get 2 in 7 years.
