I visited the wine bar at the Grand Bohemian on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston yesterday. When this brand comes to Greenville, it will provide a quality addition to downtown. The sommelier in Charleston, who had completed his sommelier training at The Lazy Goat here in Greenville, told me that the City of Charleston insisted on limiting the height of the building so that it would remain consistent with the surrounding area. We'll see what the City of Greenville decides to do.

Theres nothing new about limiting the height of buildings being developed in the 'historic district' of Charleston... its been formally in effect for about 50 years ... and informally for longer than that...which is basically 4 stories....all with the intent to keep that section of the city's downtown in human scale....
I do agree that it will add a high quality hotel to Greenville's downtown... the folks in Greenville...whether they live there or are visitors... should be very pleased....congratulations !
Cody Alcorn, a reporter with Fox Carolina tweeted this:
Just confirmed the Grand Bohemian Hotel Greenville development is still a go for downtown @Greenville_SC but ground breaking pushed back to Spring 2018.
