Spartanburg County School District Seven will break ground Wednesday, 14 December 2016, for the construction of the new Spartanburg High School. The school will locate on the site of the former Lan-Yair Country Club, 2252 East Main Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307-1419, in the city of Spartanburg.

Spartanburg High School will relocate to its new location for the 2019-2020 academic year from its present location at 500 Dupre Drive, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307-2978. Its freshman campus will be the future location of McCracken Middle School, presently located at 300 Webber Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307-2615.

I am correcting myself that the Lan-Yair Country Club has not been in the city of Spartanburg. Spartanburg City Council approved a request from Spartanburg County School District Seven to annex the site into the city at its Monday, 12 December 2016, meeting.
