Hi Everyone,

If I'm coming from the 5 Forks area, where would be the best place to hop onto the Swamp Rabbit Trial (no pun intended!) Parking would need to be available (obviously).

Thanks in advance for your help!

I usually park at Linky Stone Park off River Street. There are about half dozen parking places beside the park on Reedy View Drive. If those are full go under the Academy St. bridge and there is a parking area on your left in a grassy area. If you go north to TR it's a little less than 10 miles to Sunrift Adventures.

Google 24 Reedy View Drive, Greenville for directions to Linky Stone.

The LinkyStone park area is a great suggestion. For a bit closer drive / longer ride, you can park at the Cleveland street YMCA (Caine-Halter Y), and catch the Swamp Rabbit trail behind the Y.

Great, thank you both so much. I will try both areas to see which works best. I can't wait to start using the trail!

Here is a link to an excellent article about the Swamp Rabbit Trail from The Post and Courier in Charleston.

Can you use electric bikes and/or mopeds, on the trail?

Visit this site and click the "View Videos about Road and Trail Rules and Etiquette" link to the left. Watch the video titled, "Bicycle Trails Safety," and note rule #7, which prohibits motorized vehicles on the trails. The examples given include mopeds, golf carts, and ATVs. While I don't know of a policy regarding electric bicycles, it would seem an acceptable form of travel on the trails, although the Swamp Rabbit Trail is mostly level from end to end.

I saw that. My mom called me this morning as she was reading the paper. She told me they had a big article in their newpaper about the trail. I was able to locate it online to read. I bet Charleston is jealous of our trail. lol

I'm from Summerville and I've always wondered why they didn't have a trail similar to this. I always thought it would be cool to have a trail paralleling Hwy. 61.
