A question to the board: what intersections in Greenville do you often find yourself unable to move when the light turns green because of gridlock?
As I'm driving south on Frontage/Independence along 385, I'm stopped at the intersection with Roper Mountain Rd. My light turns green but I can't move across the intersection because cars are queued up for the intersection of Roper Mountain and 385. Part of the problem I see is poor/oblivious driving skills where drivers have entered an intersection they can't leave. Another part of the problem I see is poor road layout and light timing.
A really bad one is Spring St and E North St. There's a sign that says don't block intersection and people traveling on E North St routinely block spring st drivers.
I will second the Roper Mtn/Independence intersection. Gridlocked at AM/PM rush and sometimes throughout the day, starting at the Roper Mtn Ext light through the light at Woodruff. Let me add Pelham Rd starting at the Garlington Rd intersection through the lights at the 85 exit ramps.
Drivers in the two right lanes on Wade Hampton Boulevard southbound want to cross three lanes at once to turn left onto North Church Street. That causes motorists behind them to brake, honk horns, and give fingers up.

I'll second the Pelham Rd./I85/Garlington/Parkway mess. Another example of several poorly-timed lights within a short distance. That's an interchange which badly needs to be converted to an SPUI.

That may be, but the traffic hardly backs up at the light and the intersection itself is never gridlocked. At least I've never seen it and I go through during both morning and afternoon rush.
I will add Church Street at Washington Street downtown. Worse in the afternoon rush than the morning.
