I don't know about being #2 but I can agree that the drivers are rude around here. They speed up and won't let you get over or they ride up the back of you. I know bigger cities can be worse but come on people, it's common courtesy.
I will admit that I find drivers on the Charleston peninsula to be pretty bad, but I think that is largely because of the tourists trying to figure out the terrible roads. Here in Greenville I don't find drivers to be any worse than most other places. That certainly doesn't make them good!
There is a lot of not being courteous when people need to merge in on freeways in SC, and the use of turn signals for changing lanes or even left or right hand turns for that matter here as well is not what it should be. Never considered it rude, but I guess it depends on how you look at it. I always thought of it as that drivers were lazy around here. But I guess it is rude when it all comes down to it.
The story says that the drivers polled were asked questions about themselves. So this is based on self driving skills. So, those polled did it to themselves, making South Carolina look like the rudest drivers in the US. And the best part is this is just a sample of people and doesn't count for all of us that are the nicest drivers in South Carolina.

Having lived in Florida, I can promise you the drivers there are far worse. Also, I notice the NC drivers drive FAST as heck on the freeways. You always know them ...when you see a blur coming up on you from the left in the fast lane.
I have seen a lot of rude drivers. The thing I hate is nobody pays any attention to a turn signal when you want to change lanes. I have trying to move over one lane (usually to the right) and have someone pass me on the right and then cut in front of me. Same thing when you are trying to exit. I drive like most people about 5mph over the speed limit and don't hang out in the left lane and always try to move over for folks.
I agree. The drivers here in South Carolina are just horrible. Rude and willing to pit your life at risk to get a few seconds ahead of you. I have seen people commit the most nonsensical acts with their vehicles since living here. I am from Florida, I have lived all over the states and in Europe too. So far SC takes the cake as far as rude and dangerous drivers go.

On the other hand though, a LOT of SC drivers will get in the left lane and creep along like they're going to the end of the driveway to check the mail. While others don't have the first clue about how to merge onto a highway.
