I heard there was a pharmacy hold up in Greenville SC, and the pharmacist was taken hostage when the cops showed up. Anyone know where I can find this story online?
thanks
Kat

thanks I'll check those links later or tomorrow. From what I understand it just happened so it might not be on the news yet.

Talking Crime in Greenville

I know that crime happens everywhere, but honestly, when we watch the news, we tend to laugh at what we see. One night, we saw 4 older cops trying to break down a front door, and one by one, they fell off the porch in the process. We laughed until we cried. I just don't see crime around here, like I am used to in Baltimore. I know, it's a big difference, but it still amazes me how low the crime rate is around here and what the news shows as "breaking news"

lol I bet thatt was funny. I've never lived in a big city and while on vacation I am amazed at what I hear on the news every day. In my home town a woman was murdered in the house next door to the police station. The murder was never solved even though the space between the house and the police station was about 10 feet or less. By God if it was someone smoking a joint they'd bust 'em though.
I am not from SC, I just happened to know the person that is involved in the robbery and wanted to read about, he's always been a dumba$$. I do feel sorry for his family though.

Perfect example of why this country needs to get it's priorities straight.

And I haven't heard about this yet either.

Amazing how we get desensitized to crime, especially when we are in cities where there is a lot (i.e. Baltimore, New Oreans, etc...). I'm relo'n from Memphis to Greenville in the next few weeks, and definetely looking forward to it.

I am currently living in wilmington, nc and planning on relocating to greenville because I am sick of the high cost of living and no jobs here. I was born in detroit, grew up in washington DC, and have also lived in memphis and baltimore. it is just totally different in bigger cities. the crime index in wilmington is a bit high but they only have like 8 murders per year. detroit and DC have like 500 per year but it's because there are more people in the area. but you do become desensitized to it when you hear about two murder a night. it's pretty sad.

You do not hear alot about robberies and such on the news here. My husband worked for Loomis Fargo years ago and he would know about robberies that happened but it was NEVER on the news or in newspapers. Not sure why except that they seemed to be common place.

WOW That is sad that crime should be so common place. Its the drugs, its the drugs!
I did my share of partying when I was younger but when it was time to grow up I put that stuff aside and never looked back. okay, okay I did look back once. lol
