I see that the Simon Properties-owned outlets in Gaffney along I-85 have been changed from "Premium Outlets" to "Outlet Marketplace".
Is Simon downgrading the property to a lower tier of shopping centers, perhaps due to Charlotte now having 2 outlet centers? Or is this just a change that has nothing to do with the store selection, performance, etc. of the center?

Thanks.
Probably just a marketing change. The tenant mix is basically the same, and similar to the Charlotte Outlets and Commerce, Ga. Although Concord Mills is much larger.
Had not been to the outlets in a while. Noticed they had added a Crate and Barrel outlet and a second Pottery Barn store for Rugs, Lighting and Wall Decor. They had a few vacancies but thought I heard someone say a large chunk in one section was going to be possibly filled by a TJMaxx as anchor.

I go to the Chico’s quite often. They removed the awnings quite a long ago and the summers are brutal for just walking around there. They also help on rainy days. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why they have not been replaced.

Yes totally agree. Especially with the rainy weather we have been having. They need to erect some long metal type of canopy over those breeze ways like some of the Tanger outlets at the beach I have been to. I thought that was what they had in the works when they removed the store awnings.
