The small Baptist church behind us had a (very loud) outdoor service yesterday.
Baptist- loud? I have been to many Baptist churches and don't think I have ever encountered that.

Saw this couple at Five Guys in Simpsonville Friday evening. I thought it was cute. Turned the back of his pickup into a table.

I thought it was great.

Not looking good! We were downtown earlier and enjoyed some outside dining at Charleston Pub. Happy hour and Taco Tuesday. It was nice and felt like some type of normalcy returning. It lifted my spirits. There were only a few places open but all others for outside dining should be ready by Friday.

Tennessee is allowing restaurants to reopen but at only 50% capacity. Tables must be 6 feet apart, no bar seating and no buffets. Servers must wear masks and gloves. Patrons will be screened for active fever before entering the establishment.

While this is comforting for safety reasons, if these rules go on for a long time or are permanent, we are going to see a loss of a lot of small businesses. The chains can probably absorb this and keep going, even possibly expand with low lease rates and interest rates. 13 million Americans work in the restaurant industry. Be lucky if we get half of them back.

Was there mention of tables and chairs being sanitized after each customer? I think this is one of the requirements of SC outdoor dining. You would hope this occurs anyway but not always sure about chairs. The tops of chairs where people pull on them I always thought to be the worst for germs. Think i will take a sanitizing wipe with me when dining out just in case.
