I searched the forums and didn't find anything already offering any info or ranking on local gyms, so I was hoping to gain some insight by posting this. So far, I've found the following fitness centers in the area and was wondering if anyone could rank them, give feedback, general info, or add to the list. This is important to me since my husband is a personal trainer. Thanks for all the help!!

Coop's Fitness - Coop's Health and Fitness Club - Greenville and Anderson, South Carolina

Thanks, G-man!!! So Life Center and LivNNsidout (wow, weird spelling) are your top picks? Is the Life Center actually inside the hospital? I went to the GHS website when originally making this thread but couldn't figure that one out...

There are actually many, many more gyms and fitness centers in the Greenville area than this short list. Several are 24-hour centers as well, so that is a huge plus in my book.

I don't have time to list them all right now, so I will try to do a slightly more extensive list later.

Here are a couple to add for now...

NJJ site looks the same as it did two years ago. I don't see it getting built.

Thanks, Skyliner! If anyone has opinions on any of these places, that would help me out as well.

The Mauldin website is pretty poor too. Its a new facility run by the city and it is quite popular. There is supposed to be an indoor pool in a few years. My Dad works there so I can get info for you.

I wasn't referring to the website. I was referring to the actual construction site. LOL.

Default Sports Club

I think the new Sports Club at 5 Forks in Simpsonville is spectacular.
It's only been open for a few weeks and my wife practically lives there.
Some things about it:
Indoor swimming pool with scheduled classes, family swim time and water aerobics.
Fully staffed day care that also provides scheduled parents night out sitting.
Nutrition bar with ability to charge to your account.
1st floor has free weight room, bicycle room, nautilus room with machines that know who you are, how much to weight to use etc...aerobics rooms, pool, locker rooms with direct access to pool, hot tub, steam room, etc...
1st floor will also house a full salon.
2nd floor is pilates, some other strange European exercise fads that I haven't figured out yet. A basketball court and full cardiovascular suite.
And much more I am sure. I have only been able to visit a couple of times so far myself. I'll be doing water aerobics in the morning though. Most of the classes are 100% included in membership. We love it!

Can you give me an idea how much the membership is fr a family? TIA It sounds like a great place.
