Looking for info on this community. Is it in a good retirement area......medical, food stores, restaurants? Would love to hear from those who live there or visited the community.

No expert but that area is the beginning of north Keowee “dead zone” to coin a phrase. It’s a beautiful area, and many love the seclusion, but no grocery stores, almost no restaurants or medical services.

It's less than 20 minutes to the Oconee Hospital in Seneca, about 10 minutes to the Publix grocery store. Clemson is 20 minutes away.

I think it is a good retirement area if you like small town living and being near lakes and the Blue Ridge.

My wife and I are looking to retire somewhere in the Southeast, north of FL/GA. We like quiet, slow areas and this sounds right up our alley. Can you tell me, is Keowee Key a planned community (amenities/golf/etc) or more of a small town on the lake. Thank you

Planned, gated and full of north easterners and those from the Midwest, no town there at all Seneca is 15 minutes away, guessing, don’t drive it much.

Again, no expert, but certainly a local. KK feels like a tiny Hilton Head, but on a lake, and comparing to HH is not a compliment. We are most likely retiring to a community a couple miles south of Georgetown SC. People from five states away like to retire too Keowee way more than the locals do, extended family from Colorado appreciate Keowee more than we do, but everybody wants what they have never had!
