Today, 1September is the first day of Fall (meteorological Fall at least…your regular calendars go for 23Sept). And a perfect Labor Day weekend on tap.

Notice where a hurricane is on the long range models. This is for September 14th. Just something to keep an eye on.

And just a note, wouldn’t trust the models beyond 7 days for tropical systems as skill level isn’t the best but models do favor something developing before/near Caribbean. That potential system will take a week just to near Caribbean so plenty of time to watch and models change more.

Just in time for Fall a new website has launched this week to track and predict fall foliage colors, some of the developers are in Western NC. https://www.explorefall.com/

Looks like cold air damming (CAD) making for a nice late September day! Want 80’s? Head over the mountains into Tennessee!

We topped out about 68 yesterday. Cloudy, but cool. We turned our A/C off a few weeks ago, hopefully for the season. We open the windows at night, then close them when it gets warm out.

First frost / freeze of the season (there's been patchy frost on roof tops here/there this month tho) Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Temps Wed. night could be upper 20's.

Looking ahead in November, it's not looking too shabby. This coming weekend looks great, sunny and highs in low 70's. After that many days in upper 60's, a few in 50's plus some rainy days. But overall, not bad.

Thanksgiving forecast is a bit cool, mid to upper 50's.
