Where is the best place to live in SC? We are looking in the Greenville area, some folks said that the Simpsonville area is really good but which area is the safest for kids and has the best schools?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...........................

Greenville County is one school district for K-12. What grade level are your kids at?

We also have been planning a move to the Greenville area since last fall when my husband was offered a position in Greenville. Our house was on the market since the Fall of 07 and now it is in contract. I have been reading these boards for a good year. There is so much great information. I have a high schooler as well and we were leaning towards the Greer area and either Riverside or Eastside High School. We were down a month ago to house hunt and then 2 weeks ago. We finally found a house our last visit and the high school for our neighborhood is Mauldin. I could not find anything available in the other areas that did not require some updating, there were many lovely homes. Although much is written about the traffic along Woodruff I am close to so many things and that is what I am use to. Good Luck to you!

Mauldin is a great school. You all should be happy with your choice upon your move. And WELCOME!

My daughter graduated from Mauldin in 2007 and attends Furman U. My son is going to Mauldin Middle this year by choice. So far we are happy with our choices.

Welcome to my neighborhood!

Just to reinforce the others, I would agree that Mauldin is a good choice. Me and my wife moved out of Greenville to Mauldin and we love it. Really any of the towns in the eastern suburbs of Greenville are nice (Mauldin, Simpsonville, Fountain Inn, Taylors) I cant really comment on the schools, because I dont have any children yet and I went to a Christian School not public so I wouldnt know; but I doubt the others on the forum would steer you wrong Welcome, I hope you like it.
