I'm new to the area and my company is planning early and taking suggestions on where to hold our upcoming Christmas party. This would be for approx. 100 people.

Thanks

I'm not sure of the number limitation, but the Soby's corporate loft is great. Especially with the outdoor terrace so you can view downtown at Christmas time.

A little more edgy and less stuffy than many typical venues.

Great suggestion, gsupstate.

I also recommend checking out the various local hotels with event space. I highly recommend the Marriott on The Parkway, next to Michelin North America and Thornblade. I recently attended a large (250-300) fundraising banquet for a locally based global nonprofit organization in one of the ballrooms and was impressed with everything about the place. It looks and feels quite high-tech and cosmopolitan. The design throughout the first floor has a very international flavor.

Larkins on the River has a several spaces (http://www.peacecenter.org/cateringmaps.asp#3 - broken link) right on the Reedy at the Peace Center.

In any case, you'd better get moving for a good date with a party that size.
