I was in the area over Christmas and decided to run down to S'ville and check things out...wow, how things have grown and progressed. But, I found something disturbing - WHY on earth did they make Main St around Curtis two lanes with those medians in the middle? It makes traffic move slower and driving more difficult. What was the purpose of this? Seems to me that's the place where it needs to be 4 lanes the most.

A lot of people around here would agree with you. Thankfully I don't have much reason to go down there but I can imagine it is terrible at evening rush hour.

To make it pedestrian friendly and to slow people down. We have a freeway for fast driving.

Oh, OK. Thanks. This was just really annoying, the traffic makes it hard to get over and as the area grows, it's only gonna get worse

Cause all of the TOWNS around the area want to be just like downtown Greenville and they dont realize that Greenvilles downtown is a real downtown, you cant get people to walk around when there is nothing to walk too. Just making a street narrower is not going to make everyone want to jump out of their cars. They need to start by getting some real night life and real stores, then people might walk. Nice try simpsonville.

Seriously. I love Simpsonville, it has come a long way but is there really a reason to walk around? No offense to it, like I said I love Simpsonville but Hwy 417 between downtown Simpsonville and I-385 isn't exactly the most beautiful stretch of road. They need to get more businesses/restaurants/condos, clean it up some more, do something to really attract people before they try making it like that.

Just my 2 cents

No matter how hard they may try, it just isn't possible to make any of the town around Greenville like Greenville. It's unique and fantastic. I'd like to see them try to duplicate Falls Park!
