Does anyone know why they don't tear down that old Ingles on W. Georgia Rd. It is such an eyesore and all I ever see there are police cars and trucks.

I haven't lived here long so I don't know how long its actually been out of business.

Thanks!

I have to agree it is an eyesore. It would really improve the area if someone would tear it down.

The rumor I heard why it took so long to be torn dows was that the owner of the site and building just wouldn't do it. Not sure how true that was though... glad to see it's slowly coming down in these past few weeks though since as others have mentioned, it's a big eye sore. That area should take off pretty well when/if that theater is built.

ingles-markets still owns part of that property where to store sits. Its been rumored that they were planning on moving ingles away from wal-mart back to west gerogia road or just open a new store their between the one in mauldin and fairview road.

Is the old Ingles (in the same red, yellow, and orange color scheme with the rock facade) still standing on Poinsett Highway? If so, it should be torn down too. Talk about an eyesore!
