I am planning my first visit to Greenville in the next few months or less and I would like to be here before all the trees are bare. (to bad you don't have evergreens in this state).
Would November be to late? maybe around Thanksgiving?
I may end up having to arrive around the beginning of the year, but am trying hard to come sooner.
Its not that I want to see all the fall colors, i just don't want my first and maybe last impression to be a poor one. (bare trees)
There isn't an unattractive time of year around Greenville, and especially Downtown. For what it's worth, fall color in the trees usually begins to fade about mid-November, but that varies from year to year. BTW - we have plenty of evergreens here - various different conifers are found in this area.
