Anderson School District One (http://asd1.schoolwires.com/asd1/site/default.asp - broken link) is well known for providing the highest level of public education available in South Carolina. The addition of the new Powdersville High School will make room for more people to be part of this educational excellence. Students already enrolled at Wren High will remain there, while new high school students in Powdersville are scheduled to be enrolled into Powdersville High by August 2011.

General details about the facilities:
  • Approximately 185,000 square feet
  • A freshmen academy
  • 700-seat auditorium
  • 1,500-seat gym
  • 3,000-seat stadium

I like the design model on page 19 of the pdf file. Looks like they're going for LEED certification by the way the building will be laid out with the amount of glass used.

Don't you know the kids who are moving on from Powdersville Middle School will be glad they no longer have to cheer for PMS?

This is great news. I saw the grading today when I was at Powdersville Elementary. I think it will be a great addition to the Powdersville area. Very convenient location!
