We are thinking of relocating from Moorsville NC,Lake Norman area to Greenville. I was wondering what schools are best and are they overcrowded. Our schools here look good on paper, but I would say they could be better. We also want some acreage but still be close to amenities. Any developments with acrerage for the best of both worlds in a good school district, too much to ask for,LOL.

I would look at Saddlehorn in Simpsonville, SC. http://www.saddlehornliving.com/

Here is a description I copied:

The land that is now Saddlehorn was once rural farmland which created a patchwork of fields and rural homesteads separated by thickets of trees and fences. When we decided to build homes on this land, we thought it was important to capture the peace, tranquility, and beauty of the rural countryside. With lots starting at 2/3 acre, the home sites are complemented by a neighborhood design that preserves the rural character of the area and gives your family the amenities to enjoy it every day. You can stroll on miles of trails around the pastures, through the woods, past the old livestock corral and up to the Civil War Era Cemetery. All this in the comfort and safety of a genuine neighborhood with friends and neighbors close by. Plus, you'll be close to shopping in Simpsonville and the excitement of downtown Greenville.

12 Month Average Home Price : $250,000
Amenities : Walking Trails, Equestrian
Year Founded : 1999

Schools are Ellen Woodside Elementary, Woodmont Middle and Woodmont High. Ellen Woodside is a very good school IMO.
