According to the SCDOT, Haywood Road is going to get sidewaks under the economic stimulus recovery plan. You mean we're becoming progressive? Somebody dial 911. I just fainted.

YESSSSSS!!!!!!!

Now all we need is Woodruff Rd, Pelham Rd, The Parkway, all of Wade Hampton, Buncomb Rd, etc. to name a few. But, it's a start.

Wow, that would be great! Then when I'm getting my tires done at Discount Tire, I can walk down to Barnes and Noble like a reasonable pedestrian rather than cutting through the shrubs, down embankments and through parking lots. Now, we just need some trees to buffer and shade these sidewalks.

Thanks for the money China - my great grandkids will pay you back - I promise you they're good for it.

In the mean time, thank the good Lord I don't have to cut through the parking lots on my shopping sprees (thanks again China for bailing out Citibank). With the straight shot the sidewalk will provide, I'll be able to really power shop in luxury!!!

Exactly. I wish the same thing for Woodruff Rd. ; I'd love to be able to walk from Whole Foods to Costco (eventually Magnolia Park, hopefully) or Target, but to try that now is taking your life in your own hands.

Yep, around here, if you're walking people assume your car is broken down (or you're up to something).

You must not purchase much if you are hoping to walk between those stores!

Parts of Highway 14 and Batesville Road are also slated to get sidewalks: http://www.scdot.org/inside/pdfs/6-1...ct_3_final.pdf
