I just have a single (thickish) dead branch that I need cut down/pruned (it is already half off of the vertical part of the tree already).

I'd start from A-Z for tree service in the yellow pages, but I first was wondering if anyone in the Greenville area has had excellent service and success from one tree service employer in particular.

In advance thanks for the help.

I had a very good experience with Schneider's Tree Service. We had a lot of trimming and pruning done of both large trees and shrubs. They only employ certified arborists and are very professional. But, because of this, they are little expensive. Might not be the most economical solution to your dead branch. For that, I think just about anybody could do it. Unless the tree is in a critical location (like right next to your house, etc.) I'd just get a few estimates and go with the cheapest. Just make sure they are insured and stuff.

I just got a tree cut down on Friday. I used Timbertech. The crew was very good and after having three trees cut down and the stumps ground, my yard was clean before they left. I got six quotes and they were at least half of what the other ones i got.

I know this is an old thread but I searched and it was the most recent.

I am using Timber Pros and I am VERY impressed with how they are dropping big tall trees without damaging surrounding trees and the house or the fence or tearing up my yard [they held off a day after it rained to keep from tearing up the grass] ....

I am DEFINITELY getting great value for my money.
