My husband and I are moving there soon. We'd like a place to work out that has several machines (low or no wait time), swim lessons for kids and a kids care area where kids can go when parents work out. TV's on each cardio machine (ours just started this where we currently live).
Do you know of a place that has some or all of these characteristics?
Unfortunately, Greenville does not really have what I'd call a super gym with all of the features you are talking about. I tried to find something like that myself because it is what I was used to as well. I think the closest to what you described based on my own searching is the YMCA in the city on Cleveland st.
Livn is where I go and I cannot say enough good things about them. The equipment is all brand new with TV's on most cardio equipment, a theatre room, zumba classes, and great people.
The kids care is great too, they get the kids moving, playing games in the gym, they have wii's, bikes, and fitness classes for the kids.
Yes, there is a club that has it all. Sportsclub, especially the one in Five Forks in Simpsonville. They have a super pool, swim lessons, child care, tv's on all their treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. The one in Simpsonville is a 2-story workout heaven. They have tons of classes, a snack bar, an atrium. Truly amazing.

Its worth checking out. No pool though.
IT is definitely a state of the art facility with all of the above except the pool but a YMCA is conveniently close to the Livninside out - maybe 2 miles.
I think a family membership at the Eastside Family YMCA is about $70 per month, with a joining fee of around $100. I could be wrong though.
