The economy is terrible. I better move to New York City where everything is perfect: http://www.thesunnews.com/142/story/1197142.html?storylink=omni_popular (broken link)

Cool! Wonder why move just across the state, though? Wonder if the 150 jobs being affected will all be brought to the Greenville area (high-paying corporate-level jobs per the report, by the way...)?

Yes, the corporate jobs will be relocating to the Greenville area, according to the article.

They're relocating to the Kyocera building. Kyocera owns AVX. That's why they decided on Greenville instead of another area.

The only (former?) Kyocera facility I can recall is on Pellham Rd south/east of I-85. But that seemed to be a mainly manufacturing facility...

There is a large Kyocera Mita facility next to I-385 near Fountain Inn. According to the company website, "Kyocera Mita's operations in the Americas are headquartered in Fairfield, New Jersey. The company produces toner, developers and cartridges at a state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Greenville, South Carolina, and operates a training and parts distribution center in Dallas as the hub for its technical and sales training operations."

Where is my suitcase...I will be right down, taking the first flight out of Laguardia! Please ask them to hold one of those high paying corporate jobs for me.....I want a HUGE corner office with a window, expense account, company car and oh yeah....I almost forgot a good looking secretary.

Gotta hurry up and get out of NYC all the good companies are running to Greenville!
