How would Seneca SC, or surrounding area, be as a retirement spot?

Default Seneca SC

In my opinion Seneca is a great retirement spot. It is the home of Lake Keowee and there are plenty of retirees there. They have several grocery stores, smaller shopping centers but only about a 20-25 minute drive to Anderson SC if you need more. There are several restaurants, Oconee Hospital which is currently growing, garden clubs, newcomers clubs etc.

Seneca is already fairly well-known (along with "sister city" Clemson) as a good area for retirees. Clemson, being a college town, offers a bit of energy, as well as more cultural offerings than a city/town its size would normally offer. It's fairly close to Atlanta, and very close to the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as South Carolina's "fresh water coast" (lakes Jocassee, Keowee and Hartwell).
