We are relocating from Miami because of the cost of living. We visisted Greenville last October and thought it was really pretty but we are a bit confused on where to go. My husband works for Fed Ex so we are open to any city. Has anyone lived in both or know someone who has. Any pro's and con's.
Would appreciate anyones input.

The number one negative about living in Atlanta is TRAFFIC. I have family living in the Atlanta metro and have been there myself more times than I could ever remember. The city is great if you want everything a big city has to offer, but I would recommend living somewhere inside the MARTA loop just to take advantage of its hassle-saving features.

They are soooo different. If you want the large metropolitan feel with all the pros and cons that it comes with choose Atlanta. If you want small town charm in a town that's large enough that you don't feel your missing anything, choose Greenville. I'm slightly biased and proud.

I can't think of too many negatives about Greenville. The two major ones that come up are air quality and crime, both of which have not effected me so they don't make sense based on my experience.

On the other hand, I feel I could make a very long list of cons for Atlanta. It's all a matter of tastes. I don't understand the taste for Atlanta.

We live in FL, and want to relocate a bit further north, so we started looking outside Atlanta, in Rome and Athens, to be exact. (Not exactly suburbs of Atlanta) We liked what we saw, until we got to Greenville, SC! To make a long story short, we bought land in Traveler's Rest, about 15 miles north of Greenville, and plan to move there in a couple years. I couldn't handle the Atlanta area! The sprawl of Atlanta is relentless, and that is what we want to escape from in FL. After 27 years in the endless fast food joints and car lots, 'farm livin' is the life for me!
