I thought Best Buy was supposed to be considering a Cherrydale area location. And there was talk of an electronics store on Haywood Rd. I was hoping for a Fry's or possibly a Brandsmart.

There is an electronics store coming to Haywood Road. Look one post above yours.

Here's the website for Conn's if you're not familiar. (I don't believe I'd heard of them until g-man posted.)

TVs | Appliances | Electronics | Computers | Furniture | Conn's

Conn's, already having stores in Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, is expanding across the southeastern United States. They are now hiring for positions in their new states of Colorado, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Is Conn's more in line with H.H. Gregg?

That's what it looks like to me.

I wonder what uses could be made of the space occupied by Lechmere's, Pharmor, Rhodes and Steve and Barry's. The Gallery has had a supermarket before in the form of Ingle's, later occupied by Pharmor, Babies "R" Us and now Conn's. I do not know if a supermarket would be viable on that stretch of Haywood Road being more commercial than residential.

I have heard of this store, and it does seem to be somewhat similar to HHG. But not sure if they have good deals like Fry's and Brandsmart, which often have better sales than Best Buy and HHG.

Amazon still matches or beats Conn's on many of it's TV prices. With Best Buy struggling to stop being a showroom for Amazon, I just don't see how a new box electronic store will compete in a saturated market here (or anywhere).
