Public or private school in Greenville for my kids? (school districts, live in)

I may be relocating to Greenville soon. I don't know anything about the city yet, other than what I've gleaned from the internet. Regarding schools, what's the local consensus - public or private schools? If private, anyone know what to expect in costs? Thanks.

We do not live in greenville but about 30 minutes of there. We are in anderson county 1 school district. I recommend them! I have been very happy. We looked into all school districts. I literally printed out sat/act, % graduated, etc. I studied the schools from gville-anderson-seneca. I found for what we were looking for Wren area/anderson 1 was one of the better ones.
