I have been monitoring this forum for several weeks and reading back threads regarding Greenville area as a retirement location. Some of the threads were 2 and 3 years old, so I would like to ask the question anew as there might be some new thoughts. This is specifically for people that have retired to Greenville from the northern states, especially the midwest.
Why did you choose the Greenville area?
Specifically, what town or area did you choose?
Do you have any regrets about your choice?
What might you have done differently in making such a decision?
I have traveled throughout the USA, and Greenville is the most beautiful small to mid-sized town I have seen. People are nice, taxes are low, and the weather is great. We moved to the northeastern section of Greer; the area is rural and the house has a great of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are 30 minutes from Greenville and Spartenburg and 20 minutes from Landrum. We had our house custom built. No regrets. We have lived in SC for the last 12 months.
Thanks Xena, good info. I sure hope there are others out there to respond!
