Hey Upstate, been there done that.
It is a smoothy made by Dole. Disney and The Dole Plantation both just serve Pineapple which we love. The Ice Cream Station had orange today. My son said he got a Mango last week. I asked the clerk when I could get pinapple and she did not know.
The sign says it is lactose free. That is the extent of my knowledge. At least on that subject.
That pretty much answers it for me. When I heard "whip" I was thinking maybe some kind of chewy candy (like liquorice whips) or something...

I agree with the Ice Cream Station being a good addition to Simpsonville. The prices are reasonable, especially for what you get. They have chocolate and vanilla soft serve, non-fat vanilla frozen yogurt and one flavor of Dole Whip. A regular (or is that a small) serving is $1.50. The cups for this size appear to be about 12 ounce. A topping is 25 cents. They also serve sundaes, shakes, etc.
I took my grandson back there yesterday and they did hae the Dole Pineapple Whip. It was really refreshing on a hot summer day. Make a note. A small is all you need.
I know this is a resurrected thread, but I just need to express my absolute LOVE for Ice Cream Station.
First of all, they do still have dolewhips, and their prices are still amazing. I mean honestly, I can get a sundae (and they're big), my wife can get a waffle cone (and they're amazing), and my kids share a cup of swirl with sprinkles. All for less than $8!
Brusters in Simpsonville is back open...for now. Aside from the prices the thing i don't like about Brusters is that they change the flavors so often and they're different at each branch. If they'd somehow enable an internet listing of the flavors for that week that'd be interesting. Pink Lemonade sorbet is awesome!
Baskin Robbins was either bought out or changed their name because it's different now in Simpsonville. I can't remember off the top of my head though. Hopefully it's totally different because the was very dirty and the employees seemed hostile. It was the first time i ever had grape icecream though!
There's another ice cream place in downtown Simpsonville next to Henry's BBQ but it reeked of bleach when i went in there so i never went back. Downtown sweets & treats i think it's called, across from Palmetto bank.
