"And I have told DS if he has a "celebration of life" for me instead of a proper Episcopalian funeral I'll come back and haunt him- especially if it includes a balloon release."

As many of you know, I have a creative and perverse sense of humor. When I read the phrase "balloon release" the first thing that pops into my pea brain is ...

Spoiler
whoopie cushion! I imagine everyone being offered one and then a resounding chorus of "B-L-A-A-A-T-T-T!!!

At my Mom's funeral it was somewhat traditional funeral music but when they took her body out at the end it was Ode To Joy. The organist did a great job and you could tell he was really into it. Loud and strong! I got lots of compliments for picking that out.

If your want you final instructions carried out your way, do not leave it to family members who can easily pull the "Oh, but....." routine.

So plan your own funeral or memorial service with a CD before you die. I made a CD of music for my memorial service, the last tune being Willie Nelson’s “Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die”. It’s a party, I’m outta here!!!

At my dads, brothers, and mom's funerals we played music they each liked. Dad, music from dirty dancing, Yellowbird, and big band. Brother, Dave mathews, red red, wine, bob marley, etc, and mom, Julio Inglesis
