At my dad's funeral, we played Uncloudy Day by Willie and it was GREAT!!!!! We played it during a montage of photos over his life.

I was thinking that I should make a play list one day. Seasons in the sun is number one on my list. I've always wanted it played at my viewing. They'd have to play some Blondie, Pat Benatar, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses and at least one B52's song; probably Roam. Good bye to you by Scandal!

Jim Henson's choices:

I've always thought that the song that begins at minute 8 in the video was an homage to a western Buddhist concept that had a couple of lines interjected to obfuscate it and make it fit within the Muppet Movie. Here it is as originally presented:

Very loosely:
familiar = reincarnation
sunrise & nightfall = a lifetime
never been there but know the way = one life experience not being aware of all the reincarnation aspects, but the soul/essence understanding
featherless wings = angel/inter-lifetime existence
old friends who've just met = time impermanence, but relationships that span many lifetimes
going to stay = the Buddhist goal of getting off the wheel of samsara

I won't have a funeral, and I appreciate the deeper meanings of my late wife's reflection of Millay:

"I do not like to think we will be gone,
and Earth unable to hear our song."

None. I will have no funeral, because the key to immortality is soon to be unlocked within the next few decades - well within my lifetime.

It will be too late for me unless they discover how to reverse the aging process.

I would do that if I could feel about 1,000 better. What about my shoulder, knee, ankle, and all of the other problems? Those problems aren't going away if I live longer. Death Becomes Her? If I had to resort to using Spackle, I'd rather die.
