Sticky: uptick in naughty DMs

We apparently have a bot that is creating multiple names and spamming direct messages with rudeness. If you get something like that forward it to a mod, and they can ban that name. We are working on trying to fix it so we can make this just go away.

I have no idea why I closed this. Actually, I do.

Because I had Covid, the Red Cross asked if I would give my plasma so they could use it as convalescent plasma since obviously it probably had antibodies. I did that yesterday. Felt totally fine afterwards. Drove myself home and then did really amazingly stupid things on the Internet. Including thinking that by putting the little lock on the post meant that I was making sure it stayed on the top.

I can’t believe I did that. But I did. A good night’s sleep helped a great deal.

But essentially, now that anybody sends me the direct messages that they’re getting, every single one of them is now coming up invalid username. Says to me that the people who were supposed to deal with this stuff, have dealt with this stuff. So there’s actually no need to tell me anymore.

I’ll leave this in place for a few days, and then I’ll delete it. But I think everything‘s been handled. I just felt I should give everybody an update.
